Riddle of the Week

Here is the riddle of the week. Post your answers by Thursday night and we will see who is correct on Friday. Thanks Matthew for sending the riddle. 

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt.
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills.
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after.
Ends life, kills laughter.
What is it?

    I think that's a bunny cause they always win when they race. Sometimes it cannot be seen and cannot be felt when it's not there.
